Bendigo is...Depends how far you want to go I guess! Bendigo is a swift two-hour ride and quite a lovely place for strolling around. Limited veg food though. On the same line, Kyneton, Castlemaine and Woodend are all lovely. There's not a lot in any of those places except take strolls and sit in parks and cruise around town. I don't know how open stuff would be on Boxing Day, too. Whatever you do, don't go anywhere on the Shepparton line.
