We are going to the Gold Coast
I finally got really cheap flights and am taking Mr T to Queensland for his birthday in Sept. Anyone have any general tips on where to stay or where to eat?
Should I stay in Brisbane or the Goldcoast?
I know it's probably too early too ask, but I'm just so pleased with myself because I never seem to get really cheap flights.

If you decide to stay in Brisbane I can point you to a few eateries. I'm less well acquainted with the Gold Coast.
I've never been to the Gold Coast, and only to Brisbane once, but I though Brisbane was pretty cool. I went to a cool vegan chinese place with Iron Chef Vegan, and there are a fair few places in West End that are completely vegan or very veg friendly. Check out the Veg Society of Queensland page for good tips!
Well done on the cheap flights! I got tickets to go to the Sunshine Coast in December as well, but I suspect the vegan options will be less than ample!
I'm not too sure about vegan places on the Gold Coast, but Brisbane has some amazing places, particularly a restaurant called The Forest. They have the most delicious veggie panini, and milkshakes, and cakes, and lots and lots of stuff, I ate there about three times! Across the street is a juice place called Fat Carrot, that is the best juice ever! Alibi Room has a massive vegan breakfast, some parts of it are delicious other parts meh, but overall, a must try! Take lots of photos for us, I forgot whilst I was there :( Bad blogger!
PS. When in Sept is your birthday? Mine is the 27th!
Brisbane is sounding more and more like the winner. Now I just need to find accommodation. Thanks for all of your food tips!
Buttons, I should have proofread that before I posted it, I've fixed it now, it's for Mr T's bday which is the 8th September.
We also got cheap tickets, but for August... We are going to Brunswick Heads (35 minutes south of the airport) in Nth NSW. It looks lovely - quiet and beachy...
